ART AND ANTIQUITIES

A panel of speakers will examine a range of issues of concern to all those who work in the cultural heritage arena. Subjects under consideration will include the Staffordshire Hoard (Caroline Barton, Assistant Treasure Registrar, British Museum), crime and the private recovery agent (Richard Ellis, Art Risk, formerly Art and Antiques Squad, Scotland Yard), collections management (Annelien Bruins, Bruins Private Collections Consultancy), the World Heritage Convention (Julia Simmonds, solicitor) treasure and the duty to notify (Professor Norman Palmer QC, CBE, Chair Treasure Valuation Committee), the treatment of human remains in museums (Julia Simmonds, solicitor).
