Study Forum in London – 6 May 2017

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT. On Saturday 6th May, we will be holding an all-day study forum in London, beginning at 9.30 am. The event will be hosted at Notre Dame University, 1 Suffolk Street, SW1Y 4HG, and will consist of a variety of talks from a number of different speakers. The topics and speakers are as follows:

‘The UK’s ratification of the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict and the new Cultural Property (Armed Conflicts) Act 2017’ – Emily Gould, IAL Senior Researcher

‘Copyright, human rights and artistic freedom’ – Paula Westenberger, Queen Mary University of London

‘Conceptual art and copyright protection’ – Shane Burke, Cardiff University

‘Art, money laundering and the proceeds of crime’ – Nicholas Querée

‘The Barnes Foundation dispute’ – Hélène Deslauriers, avocate, Brussels

‘Timbuktu, international criminal law and the destruction of cultural property’ – Alexander Herman, IAL Assistant Director

This study forum will be an excellent chance for students, IAL members and practitioners to come to discuss some of these important issues in a relaxed environment.
